Some ideas and links for the summer

We have spent several summers in Andorra and have slowly found more and more to do.
A car is essential really as although public transport exists it is quite sparse and difficult
to work out what goes where and when.

Apart from the ever popular
walking in the hills and valleys other activities available
include:

Horse Riding - locally in Soldeu
Mountain Biking - locally in Soldeu
Quadbiking - quads can be hired locally in Soldeu
Grand Valira Summer - things to do up the mountain
Andorra Hash House Harriers

Climbing
Via Ferrata (fairly simple climbing routes that are created using permanant ladders and
rope bridges etc)
Mountain Huts (refugis) for free overnight stays

4x4 tours to the remoter areas of Andorra

Swimming - locally at various hotels in Soldeu which can normally be used on payment
of a charge. eg Piolets Park and  The Sport Hotel.
In Encamp there is both a large indoor pool and a nice outdoor 'Lido' style pool, at
different sites.
Caldea - a very large indoor Spa in La Vella

White Water Rafting, Canyoning and Kayaking at Llavorsi, in Spain
- 2 hours drive from Soldeu
Canoing and other water sports at Seu d'Urgel
Hot Air Balloon flights from La Seu d'Urgel

El Bosc Aventura Park - a sort of arial adventure park in the trees- great fun and hard
work.

Trout Fishing
Bird Watching
Golf - yes really, not all in Andorra though -
several courses available, some are 'Pitch and Putt'.  A new course is opening in Soldeu
in Autum 2008 at the top of the chair lift:
